Dear Georgia Jeweler,
Georgia Jewelers Association is pleased to announce the offering of our annual John W. Reed
Memorial Scholarship & Bill Rosenfeld Memorial Scholarship. We think one of the best benefits of your GJA membership is the opportunity to win one of our scholarships. This year we will offer $500
scholarships that all members (both owners and their employees) may apply for. Furthering ones
education is always valuable and GJA would like to assist its members in insuring that our member
stores keep advancing their skills and abilities.
The scholarships may be used for GIA, AGS, and other related educational programs within the
industry. They may be used for distance and onsite courses and labs. The scholarship committee will
be meeting during the 2024 GJA Convention, the weekend of April 19-21, 2024. We will announce the winners of this year’s scholarship at our Sunday luncheon during the convention.
Another great way to gain education id during the convention. We will host industry expert
speakers on Saturday and Sunday morning. This is a great way to keep informed and refreshed on
selling and sales techniques, gemology and jewelry manufacturing and security for you, your store and your employees. Attendance at these seminars is included in your convention registration fee.
Scholarship applicants are not required to be in attendance at the annual convention but we
invite and encourage you to join us in April. Scholarship winners are limited to one per store per year
and scholarships should be used within the following 12 months. Please see the enclosed application
and guidelines and be sure to get your application into the GJA office by March 15, 2024. If you have
questions or need help call me at 706-291-8811 or call the GJA office at 770-826-1462
